pressure point

I celebrated my 25th birthday this last weekend in a blur of cakes, cupcakes (well, two cakes and too many babycakes shoved down my gullet) and some Woodchuck to wash it down. And bang! Another year gone gone gone.

Where did 24 go? I swear the last year was so fast.

In writing news……


I’ve been working steadily on getting my draft done. I really want to get it out asap and someday hope the world will fall in love with my characters. So far, I’m definitely loving Jeff Kilbourne. He’s my secondary main character. I would have definitely been his friend in high school. He’s kinda pervy and makes alot of references to popular culture and his family is known for owning a barbecue joint. Except for that, I guess you can say Jeff is sort of based on me…heh.

Speaking of barbecue, my summer job has gotten me in trouble….uh, health-wise? Especially since I’ve been trying to drop some weight, so in between my gig-dates being a beer/wine slinger for concert-goers, I’ve been munching on carrots and eating tons o’ fruit. Until I go to work and I smell Dinosaur Barbecue about 200 feet away from me. Or Nick Tahou’s. Its usually a fight between the two (do I want a garbage plate? or perhaps should I go for the pulled pork?). Atlease Dinosaur gives you a side salad of cukes and tomoatoes. Last Saturday Tahou’s won (mainly because I got a special discount!!) and I think I gained 5 pounds from that alone. Guh.

Sometimes I wish Rochester would be known for a healthier dish and not-so-much a drunken feast of home fries, mac salad and meat all slopped on a plate.

But then it IS soooo good. :)
